The Gaslight Anthem have announced the release of their exclusive ‘iTunes Session’ for December 13th, as well as the pre-order for the album, which is available today. Band members Brian Fallon, Alex Rosamilia, Alex Levine and Benny Horowitz stopped by the Magic Shop in New York City on July 25th, 2011 to record 7 songs featured on the release. The ‘iTunes Session’ is comprised of 1 unreleased original track, ‘Our Father’s Sons’, 4 covers that have never before been put to tape, and a re-imagined version of ‘Boxer’, the bands second single off their 2010 album ‘American Slang’.
The pre-order for The Gaslight Anthem’s ‘iTunes Session’ is live today, exclusively in the iTunes Store. It comes with a download of the band’s cover of the Pearl Jam hit ‘State of Love and Trust’, which is available instantly upon purchase and is also streaming on Rolling Stone.com. Customers who pre-order the session will also get a new version of The Gaslight Anthem’s ‘The Navesink Bank’ on the day of release.

Studio Brussel caught up with Alex Levine of The Gaslight Anthem at the Pinkpop Festival in Landgraaf, Netherlands on Monday (June 13). Brian Fallon and Alex Rosamilia of The Gaslight Anthem stopped by the Absolute Radio campervan for a chat with Ben Jones at Hard Rock Calling 2010. Brian and Alex talked about the origins of their music, playing with Bruce Springsteen, and what rock and roll memorabilia they’ve managed to steal. “The first thing I thought was you can’t screw this up for your mom,” Fallon said. “I knew it was gonna be such a big deal to her that I was like you’ve got to be the best. Tim Virgin and Ryan Manno of Chicago’s Q101 interviewed Benny Horowitz of The Gaslight Anthem at Lollapalooza 2009 last weekend. The drummer talked about bathing in rain after their performance, being impressed with the venue’s location, still a couple more months of touring the U.S. before heading to Europe, performing with Bruce Springsteen, and wanting to be like Social Distortion career-wise.
Kevin Manno of Q101 interviewed The Gaslight Anthem at the Bottom Lounge in Chicago. The band talked about their brief break, being in the Lollapalooza quiet period, not getting people being psyched about their band, and stepping away from the ’59 Sound’ completely on the new record – adopting a Social Distortion and Elvis Costello influenced straight rock record.
