The Toronto Eye caught up with Austin rockers Young Heart Attack frontman Chris Hodge who described playing in his hometown versus England, where the band enjoys much of their popularity. “Austin is an amazing melting pot of bands,” Hodge says. “Any night of the week you can go see any kind of music you can think of. There are so many places to play here, it’s insane. But in England, they definitely seem to be paying more attention to American rock right now. Over there I have these Brit chicks asking me to ‘talk Texan’ — all this stuff like ‘Howdy,’ and ‘Yes, ma’am,’ and ‘How ya doin,’ darlin?’ Seriously, they really think we’re still riding on horseback, and kickin’ into the saloons, having barroom brawls.”
