Lollapalooza tour co-founder Marc Geiger blamed part of the now cancelled tour’s failure on a weak touring season, but Billboard’s concert reporter, Ray Wadell, tells The New York Daily News, “People didn’t respond to this lineup of bands. It’s kind of all over the place, with modern-rock bands, ’80s bands and jam bands.” Wadell also sees a problem in the aging of the audience. “People who want to see Morrissey and the Pixies have jobs now.
