White Stripes Not Quite Up To Big-Room Test

Greg Kot of the Chicago Tribune reviewed the White Stripes concert at Aragon Ballroom on Tuesday (July 1). Kot said, “What once came effortlessly to the Stripes sounded labored at the Aragon. It was as if Jack and Meg White had hit an invisible ceiling, and the potency of their live presentation was muted by the cavernous surroundings and an audience that seemed in large part to be curious about the band’s rise rather than fully smitten by it.” Chicagotribune.com has since removed the article.
