White Stripes Cope With Hype

Paul Stewart of the Herald Sun spoke with Detroit duo the White Stripes, as Jack White explained on the eve of an Australian tour, “I am just glad we have had a few albums out before all this hype has happened because I do not know how we would have coped.” As for the huge bidding war for the pair, White added, “The idea of being on a bigger label scares us. If anyone told us we had to do certain artwork or, even worse, leave off certain songs we would get really annoyed.” Heraldsun.news.com.au has since removed the article.
