White Stripes Colors Came From Peppermint Candy
Meg White of The White Stripes had a telephone conversation with Joanne Huffa of the Toronto Eye recently where she explained the duo’s red and white motif. “It came from peppermint candy,” she said. “As well as just wanting to put ourselves in kind of a box, and it would be a definite symbol where no matter where you’d be, you’d know it was us. There’s a couple of different reasons for it. The red and the white are anger and innocence.” Eye.net has since removed the article.
