Vince DiFiore of Cake spoke with Schwenker on Save Me San Francisco Radio the other day. The trumpet and keyboard player talked about playing trumpet in school, kids no longer learning how to play music in public education, having a work together vibe in Cake, and evolving with the new album ‘Showroom of Compassion’. “That was a nice compliment with what you’re saying and what I’ve heard is that it sounds – we’re not using a lot of modern elements but it sound like there’s something fresh about it,” Vince explained. “I think that’s because of all the interweaving melodies. We’re choosy about which rhythms and melodies we choose, and how we combine them.” Listen to the interview via YouTube below.
