U2 To Play Free Web Concert

and Real Networks announced today that the band will perform a live show at the University of Notre Dame on Wednesday, October 10, at 9:00 p.m. which will be webcast for free on real.com and u2.com.

The live webcast will offer state of the art viewing with multiple cameras — four of which will be focused on each member of the band, giving users the chance to follow their favorite band member, effectively becoming actual directors of their personal online experience. U.S. fans subscribing to RealNetworks’ GoldPass(TM) and European subscribers to Tiscali’s services will be able to “go backstage” and enjoy an unforgettable live experience through an interactive 360-degree spin cam, while also gaining access to “making of” footage of the concert, and backstage interviews with the band and crew.

The show will also be available for viewing 21 days following the event.
