Richard Abowitz of the Las Vegas Weekly attended the White Stripes concert at The Joint on September 20. Abowitz said, “It is a visceral experience to see the White Stripes live, and this was clearly an unpleasant surprise to some members of this Las Vegas audience, who seemed only smitten with radio hit ‘Seven Nation Army’. There was a small early exodus at that song’s conclusion. But most of the audience rose to the challenging show, staying through the encore even if this wasn’t quite what they expected. It is a rare moment when an audience stretches to meet a performer, and the White Stripes know they aren’t offering the sort of show people in Las Vegas are used to getting.” Lasvegasweekly.com has since removed the article.
