The Vines Deal With The Pressure To Meet Expectations
Australia’s Beat Magazine spoke with the country’s biggest band of the moment, The Vines, who have only played one official headlining show in their own country, as frontman Craig Nicholls tries to grasp the pressure that is being heaped upon the group. “Someone asked me before… ‘Someone said you’re the saviours of rock music, what do you think of that?'” he cringes. “And it’s like; people, if they want, they can buy the album and make up their own mind. Because it could be the greatest thing in the world to someone, it could be the biggest piece of crap to someone else. So… it’s all… objective.”
“Subjective,” corrected bandmate Patrick Mathews. “Subjective, thank you,” Nicholls concluded. Beat.com.au has since removed the article.
