The Strokes Take It Slow With ‘First Impressions Of Earth’

The Strokes guitarist Albert Hammond spoke with Time Off magazine about the band’s latest effort ‘First Impressions Of Earth’. “The big difference was that we had time,” Hammond said. “We already had a studio [in their Manhattan rehearsal space] and we spent our advance on equipment. It was the freedom to know we could be here as long – or short – as possible. We did a lot of soul searching before we started, and we took nine months to make it.”
