Murray Engleheart of Australia’s Beat magazine spoke with The Strokes drummer Fab Moretti who addressed the perceived pressures of creating their sophomore effort ‘Room on Fire’. “It wasn’t really difficult in terms of what you might be thinking is difficult,” says Moretti. “People think that the pressures are an issue and the fu**ing people like breathing down your back is an issue. But really it was more like we wanted to be a better band and we wanted to progress as much as we could possibly progress in the confines of, you know, our sophomore record. I think we did and I’m very proud and I’m very pleased with the outcome. And hopefully it’ll be more perfect than the first one even though that’s a contradiction really.”
