The Darkness Enjoy American Success

frontman Justin Hawkins spoke with The Sun about the group’s surprise success in America, where most British acts have had trouble in recent years. “We’ve made enough money to retire,” Hawkins said. “But we won’t stop. We’ll do whatever it takes to succeed in America. There’s no easy way.” The band’s label boss Korda Marshall added: “The States didn’t get that whole Madchester and dance thing and now is the right time for a band such as The Darkness to break through there.”
