The Darkness guitarist Dan Hawkins tells Murray Engleheart of Australia’s Beat magazine that their ‘The Permission to Land’ album is a virtual collage of everything from Zeppelin and AC/DC to Whitesnake and Poison, and as far as the guitarist is concerned, stacks up well against his own favourite albums. “I’d like to have a listen to it in like five years time or something,” Dan explained. “There is something classic about I think. Just the fact there’s so much melody in it and I think you can really hear the ambition in it and stuff. It’d have to be up there. I think it could be a classic.”
