The Cure Become MTV UK’s 2004 Icon
The Cure, the legendary goth-rock band, has inspired generations of fans and young musicians with their eclectic, constantly changing music for twenty-five years. It is for those 25 years, MTV Icon, a program dedicated to honoring a band or a recording artist for their significant contribution to music, music video and pop culture throughout their career has named the band their 2004 Icon. A video report, including comments from Robert Smith and blink-182’s Tom Delonge, has since been removed from Reuters.com.
