The Ataris Have Something To Get Off Their Chests

Andy Wang of Las Vegas Weekly caught up with The Ataris bassist Mike Davenport and shared his experience meeting actress Claire Danes at a performance by her boyfriend Ben Lee. The group, who had released a tribute to Danes called ‘My So-Called Life’ in 1998, got a less than warm reception. “We truly liked her at the time,” Davenport said. “She was like, ‘Get the fu** away from me. This is my boyfriend’s show, and I don’t want anybody to talk to me.’ She was such a fu**ing bitch.” He adds, “I bet she’d be nice to us now, if we were on MTV and that song was a single. … We don’t even play it anymore. We don’t want anything to do with it.”
