Dougy Mandagi Addresses The Temper Trap’s U2 Comparisons

Frontman Dougy Mandagi of the Australian band The Temper Trap talked with ITN about the hype surrounding them and how their music came to be used in a film. “I don’t think it’s by coincidence that we sound similar to U2,” Mandagi said. “That was an unconscious thing that we did. We just like how their songs are layered and full and lush and we kind of pursued that in our own sound. Coldplay I think is a comparison that others have tagged on us, which I don’t mind.
