The Flaming Lips frontman Wayne Coyne shared his thoughts on drugs as a muse for creativity and what it is like to experience life from a much different perspective in an interview with andPOP. “I think the general public is not even aware of us actually,” Coyne said. “I think we attract a very intense music crowd. If you’re not into music, you’re probably not going to be into us, because we’re not popular. We’re not popular where you’re friends will like us and you’ll just go to see us. Oklahoma Governor Brad Henry signed an executive order Tuesday proclaiming the Flaming Lips’ ‘Do You Realize?’ the state’s official rock song. “The Flaming Lips are great ambassadors for the state of Oklahoma, all over the world, and they are fiercely loyal to the great state of Oklahoma,” Henry said before signing the order.
