Lukas Rossi Suprised By Rock Star Supernova’s Quick End

Ben Rayner of the Toronto Star caught up with Rock Star Supernova frontman Lukas Rossi, where the Canadian singer discussed the early end to the band in wake of dismal sales of its debut album and disastrous concert reviews. “It takes a chunk out of you, man. I’m not gonna lie,” Rossi admitted. “I thought it was gonna go on longer. I think my ego got blown a little out of proportion after it was all said and done, and coming back down to earth is obviously where I belong. Coming off that tour, it was like: ‘Where’s all the glory?’ But I like it where I am right now. If I have to pay my dues until I die, that’s the way God wants it to be.” Rossi is currently doing an acoustic tour at small venues in Canada. Read more.

Toby Rand Q&A

New Weekly magazine caught up with Toby Rand in a Q&A and asked the ‘Rock Star Supernova’ contestant about talk the show’s winner was almost a foregone conclusion, and that everyone behind the scenes knew Lukas Rossi was going to win. “Yeah, I think from early on he was Tommy [Lee]’s favorite,” Rand admitted. “Tommy would say, ‘I don’t even know why you guys are here.’ And we’d sit there thinking, ‘Well what is the point of us even being here?’ But as the show developed and moved on, Dilana started coming through and people were seeing the same thing from Lukas every week. Like, ‘He’s fantastic at what he does but can I watch an hour-and-a-half, two hours of it?’ And so it was pretty much catch-up for us guys. And I like coming from beh… Oh no, I’m not going to say that!”

And I’ll tell you this, there’s going to be a lot more of me on the next record.” The transcript at bostonherald.com has since been removed.
