Red Hot Chili Peppers Win Best Rock Album Grammy

The Red Hot Chili Peppers accepted the Grammy Awrd for best rock album for ‘Stadium Arcadium’ last night. Flea said, “Thanks, everybody! Love to all, good will and peace and love to every living thing!” John Frusciante added, “It means so much to all of us that our music connects with so many people. Thank you to each and every one of you.” Chad Smith added, “Thank you, thank you, thank you. I want to thank my beautiful wife, Nancy, for supporting me, and these three guys standing behind me. And of course Rick Rubin, and get out there and start a rock band. Bunch of kids. Start rock bands. We need more rock bands!” Anthony Kiedis concluded, “I love being in this band. I love these guys. I love doing what we get to do. A lot of people put their hearts into this. It took us a couple of years. Rick Rubin was one of them. I love my momma. Thank you all.”

Dave Navarro Country Gig

Dave Navarro took questions from fans on his blog at 6767.com on December 10th, including one asking how he ended up presenting the ‘Best Country’ category on the Billboard Awards and what he felt about it. “Well, I was a little irritated of course when they switched me from the Rock to the Country category, but only because I wanted to support [Red Hot Chili Peppers] had they won,” Navarro responded. “As it turned out, my category was in the first 15 minutes of the show which basically meant I could bounce out of there early and rest up for the evening’s gatherings. Also, Wynonna is super nice and does a lot of work to help unsigned artists. It was cool getting to know her a little backstage before we went out there.” The full post at 6767.com has since been removed.
