The Kerrang! Podcast team caught up with Placebo, who talked about their new album ‘Battle For The Sun’ and introduced viewers to their new drummer Steve Forrest. “The album is a little more upbeat for a couple of reasons,” singer Brian Molko explained. “First of all looking back on ‘Meds’, Stef and I felt it was quite a seminal record. Very dark and quite claustrophobic, and that there wasn’t a great deal of hope, so we kind of wanted to do something that had a little more color to it, a little bit more optimism perhaps. ‘Battle For The Sun’ is also the sound of a band rediscovering itself and relishing the opportunity to be creatively unselfconscious again.” Watch the interview below.
