Paradise Lost Fourteenth Album Due April 2015

Paradise Lost 2014

After taking a trip back in time with the ‘Tragic Illusion 25 (The Rarities)’ album and the last studio album ‘Tragic Idol’ (2012), the band is set to release their fourteenth studio album via Century Media Records in late April 2015.

The band is about to begin the recording sessions for the release with Jaimie Gomez Arellano from Orgone Studios in London. Band frontman Nick Holmes said regarding the project, “We wanted to approach the new album differently this time, by embracing the band’s VERY early days with the last few years. We have written a very dark yet melodic album, but this time many songs definitely have a death metal edge, which is something we haven’t done for a long, long time in Paradise Lost.”

After gracing the June cover of Decibel Magazine and recently releasing their thirteenth studio album, ‘Tragic Idol’, to critical acclaim, gothic/doom metallers Paradise Lost will be coming back to the United States this fall with the Devin Townsend Project and Katatonia for the “Epic Kings & Idols Tour” – Paradise Lost’s first North American run in five years.

In addition to new release ‘Tragic Idol’ (out now on Century Media Records), six classic Paradise Lost albums will be re-issued by The End Records on August 28. ‘Tragic Idol’ was released April 24th and debuted with the strongest first-week sales in the band’s history en route to charting in more than a dozen countries worldwide.

To celebrate the occasion, Paradise Lost has released a free digital sampler (limited to 4,400 downloads) on Metal Sucks.net. Entitled ‘Lost In Time’, this “greatest hits” sampler features artwork by Anthony Clarkson and is comprised of one track from each of Paradise Lost’s thirteen albums. Paradise Lost Begin Recording ‘Tragic Idol’

Paradise Lost

Paradise Lost have begun recording a new album after taking a trip back in time with the Draconian Times MMXI DVD/live album (the London legacy show of their classic album from 1995) and also Gregor Mackintosh’s return to his crusty doom/death metal roots with Vallenfyre. Guitarist Gregor Mackintosh commented, “We are currently holed up in The Chapel studios in Lincolnshire, England recording our new album which is entitled ‘Tragic Idol’. The album will again be produced by Jens Bogren and is influenced by classic doom metal and classic metal. I would say it is more melodic than the last record whilst retaining the heaviness. There are lots of guitar solos and melodies. The album will contain such track titles as ‘Honesty in Death’, ‘Theories from Another World’, ‘In this We Dwell’ and the title track ‘Tragic Idol’.”

‘Tragic Idol’ is scheduled for a worldwide release through Century Media Records on April 23rd, 2012 in Europe and April 24th, 2012 in North America. Paradise Lost’s last studio album, ‘Faith Divides Us – Death Unites Us’ (2009), entered the charts in over 10 European countries – most notably #22 in Germany and Finland, #29 in Sweden, and #45 in France.

Tour dates will be announced soon, but a few summer festivals have already been confirmed.
