Paper Tongues are out with a series of studio blog episodes on their YouTube channel as the band works on the follow-up to their 2010 self-titled album at Sioux Sioux Studios in their hometown of Charlotte, North Carolina.

“I’m excited because I can’t believe we did all of our pre-production in my garage and we got to the studio and day one we’re done with our new single ‘Amen’,” Aswan North said.

Devin Forbes added, “We’re just killin it, knockin it out, havin a blast. Feels amazing to be back in the studio doing some good work and we’re gonna have music for you shortly.”

Foreign Tongues To Release Self-Titled EP On Paper + Plastick

New Hampshire and Massachusetts-based indie-punk band Foreign Tongues will release its self-titled EP on cassette and 7″ vinyl through Paper + Plastick Records.

“I love that their music goes up and down from light to heavy,” Paper + Plastick owner Vinnie Fiorello says. “They can create an atmosphere in different songs and in different parts of songs, it’s very dynamic and takes you on a ride. The songs are heavy and light and have hooks and is still angry all at the same time.”

The band’s sound has drawn comparisons to Nirvana, Balance and Composure, Pavement and Sunny Day Real Estate.

'Foreign Tongues'

Foreign Tongues’ entire EP was streamed via their Bandcamp (since removed). Digital copies will be available through Paper + Plastick Records soon and cassette preorders will be coming in the near future.

95.9 KISS FM had a visit with Paper Tongues. They performed a few songs and talked about how they were discovered by ‘American Idol’ judge Randy Jackson, who ended up being the band’s manager. Paper Tongues On Tour With K’naan

A&M/Octone recording artists K’naan and Paper Tongues are teaming up to rock on the 2010 Wave Your Flag Tour. The tour spans across the entire U.S., continuing on October 15th in Chicago, Illinois through October 30th in Seattle, Washington.

In honor of the tour, the hip hop artist has teamed up with the boys from North Carolina, Paper Tongues, to create a mash-up filled with rock, soul, and funk roots. The mash-up includes ‘Wavin Flag’ and ‘Bang Bang’ from K’naan’s Troubadour album, and ‘Trinity’ and ‘Get Higher’ from Paper Tongues’ debut album. The song is available as a free download alongside the tour dates and ticket links at amoctone.com.

In the second Paper Tongues EPK webisode, the members of the rock band share what (and who) brought them together. The band from Charlotte take fans to the streets of North Carolina city, where the band would join with other local musicians for freestyle jam sessions, interacting with everyone from the local homeless population to Charlotte mayor Anthony Foxx.
