Kurt Cobain’s Ashes Are Missing, Courtney Love ‘Suicidal’
News of the World reports that Courtney Love is said to be “suicidal” after finding her late husband Kurt Cobain’s remains missing from her Hollywood home. “I can’t believe anyone would take Kurt’s ashes from me,” the former Hole singer said. “I find it disgusting and right now I’m suicidal. If I don’t get them back I don’t know what I’ll do.” Love said the remains were all she had left of the Nirvana frontman, who committed suicide in 1994. Read more.
Dave Grohl Thinks About The Struggles With Nirvana
Foo Fighters frontman and Nirvana alum Dave Grohl offered six principles of a happy, successful life for Esquire magazine, including: “Try to be in two incredibly successful bands. If not, that’s okay.” The 38-year-old said, “When I think of Nirvana, I think of Krist [Novoselic], Kurt [Cobain], and me. I think about us driving through Canadian snowstorms in a van leaking fuel. We reek like guys working in a gas station. I think about us selling equipment for food. I don’t think about number-one records. I think of it like any other band I’ve been in, although that was the one that touched the most people. But I don’t wear it like a badge. For starters, you’re setting yourself up for disappointment. And beyond that, it starts sitting like a chip on your shoulder. I was in a huge band at one point of my life and I can’t believe that happened to me, but I’m not looking back.” Read more.

‘Nirvana – The Biography’ Preview
The New York Post reports that in the upcoming tell all ‘Nirvana – The Biography’, author Everett True describes how the late Nirvana singer Kurt Cobain and wife Courtney Love both ended up at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles within days of each other in August 1992 – the grunge rocker checking in for a 60-day heroin detox stint and Love, a few days later, for complications arising from her pregnancy. Everett True spoke with The New York Daily News about his upcoming book, ‘Nirvana: The Biography’, and how at one point late frontman Kurt Cobain appeared to have made the call to end his marriage to Courtney Love. Michael ‘Cali’ DeWitt, who was serving as the couple’s manny for their daughter Frances Bean, recalled that on the day Nirvana shot the ‘Heart-Shaped Box’ video, a huge fight escalated between Love and Cobain and “in the classic Kurt way of saying fu** you, he put a cigarette out in the middle of his forehead. If you watch the video, there’s a lot of makeup on his forehead because it was a really bad scab.’?” True said soon afterwards, Cobain “phoned Courtney, got into a fight, and immediately called his lawyer, Rosemary Carroll, to tell her he wanted a divorce.” The full article at nydailynews.com has since been removed or relocated.

Courtney Love defended her moves to sell the music of her late husband, Niravana singer Kurt Cobain. “At this point, if my daughter has to live in a crappy condo with no shoes, I will sell Nirvana songs to Coca-Cola and not even think twice about it,” Love told V magazine. “When my kid needs something, what is her dad’s music for?”

Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain’s widow Courtney Love tells NME one of the songs on their classic 1991 album ‘Nevermind’ is about her – but she won’t say which one. “There’s only really one about me because it was written late in the day. Most of the songs are about another girl, which is annoying,” she said, refering to Cobain’s previous girlfriend Tobi Valli. “But I’m not gonna name (which one’s about me) because I feel like it’s just my secret.” Read more.
