Meat Loaf Collapses On Stage In London

Reuters reports singer Meat Loaf was taken to hospital in London after collapsing during a concert, his record company said Tuesday. The 56-year-old singer “collapsed from exhaustion due to a prolonged viral infection. It is not life-threatening,” a company spokesman said.

If a guy named Bono of U2 can command the respect of musicians and politicians alike, then why is Meat Loaf such a joke? “They take Bono seriously, but to me that name sounds like it could be some kind of headache medicine,” Meat Loaf told the Boston Herald. “When I was young and I was acting in New York, ‘Meat Loaf’ was never a detriment – the name. The New York Times critic called me ‘Mr. Loaf’.”
