Mastodon ‘Dry Bone Valley’ Live Video & Tour Dates

Mastodon have posted a live video of their new single ‘Dry Bone Valley’. The performance was shot live at London’s Brixton Academy – the band’s biggest UK headlining show to date in front of a sold-out crowd. View the ‘Dry Bone Valley’ live video via YouTube below.

‘Dry Bone Valley’ is the second single from Mastodon’s critically acclaimed Top 10 album ‘The Hunter’, and has just entered the Top 20 at radio this week. The song’s original video was created by noted fine artist Tim Biskup, a long-time friend who has amassed a cadre of loyal fans and collectors of his painting and sculpture. Watch that clip here.

This week, Mastodon hit the road for a co-headlining tour with Swedish metal band Opeth, plus special guests Ghost. The coast-to-coast trek kicks off Wednesday, April 4th. Watch a trailer for the tour here.

Mastodon will be releasing their new album ‘The Hunter’ later this year. Until then, the band has released the album cover art provided by contemporary American folk artist AJ Fosik.

In the meantime, fans can visit adultswim.com/singles to download ‘Deathbound’, a previously unreleased song from the ‘Crack the Skye’ sessions. ‘Deathbound’, along with the video clip, is part of the ten week, 2011 Adult Swim Singles Program.

Mastodon Discuss ‘Crack The Skye’, Ballet Dancing

Mastodon’s Troy Sanders and Brann Dailor offered Kerrang! the lowdown on their forthcoming album ‘Crack The Skye’ and working with producer Brendan O’Brien on the project. In addition, Dailor revealed his secret torment as a former ballet dancer. The Atlanta, Georgia metal band’s fourth studio album is out March 24th on Reprise. Watch the interview via YouTube below.

Mastodon chatted with Kerrang! about their new album ‘Crack The Skye’, due out early 2009. “It’s a multi-dimensional theme,” guitarist Bill Kelliher said. “I don’t think we’re ready to give up the actual story, and go from A to B to C to D with it. Our guitar player Brent [Hinds] wrote most of the stuff at his house in his underwear, coming up with a lot of stuff. Then we bring it down to jam space and it just kid of comes out how it’s gonna come out.” Watch the comments below.

Mastodon checked in from Greece on their tour stop on July 3, 2007 during the Rockwave Festival in Terra Vibe, Malakasa in a video clip just posted online. The guys praised the country’s people, their food, and the fan support. The guys ended up covering Boston’s ‘More Than A Feeling’ at a bar over there in the clip that also features backstage and concert footage.
