Marilyn Manson Endorsement Provides Boost To Absinthe Sales

Marilyn Manson

Markus Lion, who partnered with Marilyn Manson to produce a special absinthe called Mansinthe, spoke with the New York Times about how the shock rocker’s endorsement has attracted a new audience to the drink. Lion said Mansinthe “gave a real push to the absinthe world. We didn’t have to do much else. Manson was already a very controversial figure, just like the artists of the 19th century. So for me he was the ideal partner.” Read more.

Marilyn Manson: I Haven’t Found An Evan Rachel Wood ‘Replacement’

Marilyn Manson made the following announcement on Wednesday (December 24) regarding ex-girlfriend Evan Rachel Wood:

Ladies and gentlemen, I’d like to make an announcement. the rumors that I found a ‘replacement’ for Evan, or that I have a new girlfriend are absolutely not true. I am finishing up my album, and I also have never even met Ne-Yo. I can assure him that he would not want to be associated with something this godless. Get over the holiday so I can happily ruin the new year for anyone that assumed music was going to stay boring and sweet.

Evan Rachel Wood’s Brother Not The Reason Behind Manson Breakup

Evan Rachel Wood spoke out to People magazine about the internet rumors suggesting bitter fights between her and Marilyn Manson about her brother Ira, who was said to have been living with the pair and then was kicked out of his guest house. The 21-year-old actress denied the claims and said Ira had nothing to do with their breakup. “Manson and I both decided to take some time apart so we could concentrate on work,” Wood said. “Someone used that opportunity to kick us while we were down and sell a completely false story. Manson owns the house he lives in. My brother has never stayed there and the person that said such horrible things about Manson being ‘controlling’ and ‘emotionally abusive’ is certainly no source ‘close’ to me.”

Marilyn Manson: Tour With Twiggy Will Spawn Another Record

Marilyn Manson tells RollingStone.com that watching Led Zeppelin’s reunion was what inspired him to invite Twiggy Ramirez back to the band after a nearly six year absence. “The turning point for me was when I went to see Led Zeppelin’s reunion show, and I saw Jimmy Page and Robert Plant look at each other for a moment, and they probably said, ‘Holy sh**, we wrote ‘Stairway To Heaven’.’ I wanted that look again,” Manson explained. “I want to look at Twiggy and go ‘Holy sh**, we wrote ‘The Beautiful People’.’ I called him and I said ‘Let’s go do this.’”

Manson added that the pair had some unfinished business. “We started music together because we wanted to bring about the apocalypse, and we realized we didn’t finish,” Manson explained. “The world could suffer much more if we were together again, and we really wanted to bring back the suffering.”

While the original announcement was vague as to whether Twiggy would remain on beyond a tour, Manson hopes to write a new album with him eventually. “The concept originally of he and I getting back together was ‘Let’s write some music together,’” Manson told Daniel Kreps. “But life’s too short, and this has to happen now because we couldn’t stand not being on stage with each other, and wouldn’t want to wait until we made another record to tour. So this tour will spawn another record, one hundred percent.”

Twiggy Ramirez Reunites With Marilyn Manson, Length Of Stay TBA

Marilyn Manson checked in with fans on his blog at MySpace on Wednesday (January 9) after posting tour dates to the U.S. leg of his tour, which will now feature a reunion with Twiggy Ramirez, who left Manson in May 2002 over creative differences that were fracturing their friendship. The news means Tim Skold is the odd man out, though the permanence of the switch isn’t completely defined. The blog reads:

The duo that started it all, are back together to finish where they left off. The two who co-wrote Antichrist Superstar, Mechanical Animals, and Holywood will be sharing the stage once again.

Joining Manson and Twiggy onstage for the U.S. leg of the Rape of the World Tour will be Chris Vrenna, Rob Holliday, and Ginger Fish. Tim Skold has amicably split with Manson, but future collaborations aren’t being ruled out between the two.

Expectations for the upcoming tour are best described by quoting one of Manson’s most infamous lyrics, “Everyone will suffer now”. Looks like the sh** is gonna hit the FANS.

Manson pointed the offender out after the guy stupidly raised his hand to take credit and carefully parsed his words, saying, “I just wanna be sure that you guys know that I did not say, ‘Beat the sh** out of him.’ I said, ‘No, whatever you do, don’t beat the sh** out of that guy that raised his hand. No matter what, don’t beat that guy’s fu**ing skull in, no matter what.” Watch it below. Check out a review of the gig from Manchester Evening News.
