Franz Ferdinand frontman Alex Kapranos spoke with ‘Top Of The Pops’ in a Q&A, and was asked about some of his on-stage conversations with the audience not quite making a connection. “Oh, in some countries, when I talk on stage, I know that the audience don’t really know what I’m saying,” Alex said. “They just cheer. I remember being in France and telling a story about how Bob and I wrote ‘Matinee’ in my flat in Glasgow, and realizing that nobody was understanding a word of what I was saying.” The full transcript at bbc.co.uk has since been removed.
