Nine Inch Nails & The Dillinger Escape Plan Perform ‘Wish’

Nine Inch Nails were joined by Ben Weinman and Greg Puciato from The Dillinger Escape Plan for a performance of ‘Wish’, live in Adelaide, Australia on February 28th. “We have the honor of sharing the bill with a band that we’ve been big fans of,” Trent Reznor told the crowd before the performance. “A few years ago they did a cover of one of our songs and we’re gonna invite Greg and Ben from Dillinger Escape Plan tonight and see what the fu** happens.” Watch it via YouTube below.

Greg Puciato On Dillinger, Spylacopa & Stealing Music

Greg Puciato of Dillinger Escape Plan checked in with fans on the band’s blog at MySpace on Monday (December 1). Puciato writes:

We’re writing, we’ve loosely set aside June and July 2009 for recording with Steve Evetts, and we’re looking forward to getting ready to absolutely rip in the new year. We’ve got Australia booked for late Feb/early March, and we’ll more than likely be doing some stateside stuff as well around that time, maybe some US shows before we go down under, we’ll see.

The self titled Spylacopa EP with myself, John LaMacchia from Candiria, as well as Julie Christmas from Made Out Of Babies/Battle Of Mice and Jeff Caxide from Isis, is out now. Go over to the Spylacopa myspace page (www.myspace.com/spylacopa) to check it out and find out how to pick it up without STEALING IT ONLINE SOMEWHERE. Which brings me to the next issue.

You do realize that when you do that, steal music from bands like us, you basically take a big fat unlubed extra ribbed strap on and fu** us all in the ass with it don’t you? I used to be way into the whole free downloading thing, because at first it was like yeah awesome free sh** we’ve been paying too much for too long fu** the man blah blah! But now cd prices are reasonable and if it boils down to you not wanting a physical thing because you’re only gonna listen on your computer or iPod anyway, at least go over to iTunes and pick the stuff up if you want to own it, it’s a dollar per song over there for christ’s sake. Intellectual property is still property you know? Think of it like this, if you had a restaurant (you can tell I’m hungry…all this talk of burritos, food, etc), and you sold food that was awesome and that you made yourself and spent sh** tons of time on, and people were just pouring in and looting your place and taking everything out of it for free, just stealing everything, would you keep making it? Would it somehow be your fault? What’s the solution…to make better food? To somehow give people an incentive to pay for it? Fu** that. You would kill them, or at least beat them, or at the very least criminally charge them.

Dillinger Escape Plan Get Out The Vote

The Dillinger Escape Plan checked in with fans on their blog at MySpace on Saturday (September 27) with the following message:

Ok check it out. If you live in the United States, this is pretty urgent. The voting registration deadline is coming up, go here to see when the deadline is for your state. Some are in like a week! That means that your registration has to be done and postmarked ON OR BEFORE the date next to your state. We aren’t coming out to endorse a candidate or influence your vote, we’re just trying to encourage you TO vote. That’s the important thing. It’s very easy to be an armchair revolutionary, or to say to yourself “ah it doesn’t matter it’s not gonna affect my life”. Even if you don’t think either of the candidates is Captain fu**ing America(how killer would that be?), you should view your status as a citizen of this country as enough reason to voice your opinion. Not just on the candidates, but on the propositions in your state! Find out what they are! Politicians pass propositions all the time that you never know about, propositions that affect your life on a statewide local level, that they sometimes HOPE you don’t find out about. If you believe in larger budgets for education in your state, have a stance on immigration, gay marriage, abortion rights, everyday sh** like money to fix the potholes down the street, etc…VOTE!

The Dillinger Escape Plan 2008 Tour Diary #3

The Dillinger Escape Plan 2008 tour diary episode three features the band checking in from the airport in Frankfurt, Germany. The band was very tired after a five day trip that saw them go from England, to Russia, to Finland, to England, to Germany, getting about two hours of sleep in the process. Arriving in Frankfurt, they found some of their equipment was lost in flight. They then threw some ethnic humor at their guitar tech Asian Steve, but posted the disclaimer that nobody else is allowed to venture there. The clip also features some on-stage highlights and ends with the band on a boat leaving Wakefest in Toronto. Watch the episode via YouTube below.
