blink-182 Reunite

blink-182 checked in with fans on their blog at MySpace on Sunday (February 8), where Travis Barker, Mark Hoppus and Tom DeLonge announced what they told viewers of Sunday’s Grammy Awards, they’ve reunited. They write:

Hi. We’re blink-182.
This past week there’ve been a lot of questions about the current status of the band, and we wanted you to hear it straight from us. To put it simply, We’re back. We mean, really back. Picking up where we left off and then some. In the studio writing and recording a new album. Preparing to tour the world yet again. Friendships reformed. 17 years deep in our legacy.

Summer 2009.
Thanks and get ready…

Tom DeLonge Still Hasn’t Spoken To blink-182 Bandmates Since Split

Tom DeLonge of Angels & Airwaves spoke with the MTV Buzzworthy Blog in a Q&A, where the singer was asked about whether he has spoken to his former blink-182 bandmates Mark Hoppus and Travis Barker since their split in 2005. “No, I haven’t talked to them,” DeLonge confessed. “Isn’t that weird? It’s one of those things. You have to give it time. We had 10 years under our belt.” As for what makes AVA’s sophomore album ‘I-Empire’ special, DeLonge said, “If people are gonna give this record a chance, I ask that they find a hill that’s nearby, park their car, open the car doors, lay on the hood, blast the music at night and pretend that the city below is theirs.” Read more.

Hoppus: +44 Will Perform Blink-182 Songs On Tour

+44 singer Mark Hoppus posted the following message on his myspace page on Wednesday (May 16): “For the past year and a half we have been saying how +44 will never play blink-182 songs. In interviews, when people ask about it, we say it won’t happen, we think it’s lame, etc. Last week we changed our minds. And tonight during our set we played ‘What’s My Age Again’. You see, Travis and I LOVE our history with blink-182, and it seems a shame to let those songs sit dormant forever because of what happened two years ago. And that song is SO much fun to play. So why not? It was awesome to play that song live again. We’re having the time of our lives out here. See you at the shows.”

Blink-182’s Barker & Hoppus Form +44

The band, which takes its name from the international dialing prefix for the United Kingdom, will release its debut album ‘When Your Heart Stops Beating’ on November 14th.
