Alkaline Trio Survives A Halloween Walk Home In Hollywood
Altitude TV caught up with Alkaline Trio at the Palladium in Hollywood on November 1st, the second of three shows at the venue. Frontman Matt Skiba talked about having to walk home on Halloween, where he revealed his tour manager saw a guy shot in the stomach. He also talked about the free concert for AK3 tattoo promotion being so successful they had to cancel it. Watch the interview below.

Matt Skiba Of Alkaline Trio Talks About Heart And Sole Nike Shoe
Matt Skiba of Alkaline Trio discussed their role in helping make the Heart and Sole Nike shoe, where the frontman got a look at the final product for the first time. "We let our friends at Nike kind of run with the design aspect and just sort of okayed things," he said. "We gave ideas. We told the folks there that this is where we come from this is what we're about. We were messengers, we we're vegetarians so we wanted to make an animal friendly shoe." Alkaline Trio drummer Derek Grant spoke with Time Off magazine about their song 'Sadie', which is about mass murderer Charles Manson family member Sadie Mae Glutz. "Next to Manson, she's the biggest focal point," Grant said. "She came across as insane, but when you read about her history, there was more to it. It was sad, and that's what Matt connected with when he was reading about the Manson family. I read the book 'Helter Skelter' when I was ten, it was fascinating. A few years ago, Matt read it too. In the song he sings of this tragic person as endearing, almost as a love song."
