Iron Maiden frontman Bruce Dickinson’s latest edition of ‘Masters Of Rock’ on Radio 2 features A, who are back with their new album ‘Teen Dance Ordnance’. Bruce and the band discussed their early influences, playing pubs with The Darkness, and their ongoing obsession with Rush. The 1-hour program at BBC.co.uk has since been removed.
Radio 1 reports Tony Hawk is hitting London on December 4 to launch his new game, ‘Tony Hawk Pro Skater 4’, at an exclusive, invite-only party at the Scala in London’s Kings Cross. Brit rockers A are going to be there too – vocalist Jason Perry told Kerrang! Magazine that he’s very excited about it all, “It’s not often you get the chance to be in the same room as a God. ‘The Hawk’ has been a hero of ours since we were children… it’s going to be the highlight of the year!” Also performing are punkers Elviss.
Ananova reports punk-metal band A were shot at with an air rifle as they left a gig at the Colosseum night club in Coventry, Warks. The group, whose single ‘Starbucks’ is in the UK singles charts at #20, escaped in a car provided by their management company without injury. A spokesman revealed, “The suspect had previously confronted both the band and their crew throughout the day, causing hassle as they went about loading their equipment into the venue.”
