System Of A Down Didn’t Feel Like Ozzfest Band

Stephen Haag of the Hartford Courant reviewed Saturday’s Ozzfest stop at the Meadows Music Center, which had Ozzy Osbourne, Rob Zombie, System of a Down, and P.O.D. rocking the stage. Haag seems a little out of touch, being surprised that the crowd preferred System of a Down saying, “Their faux-arty, Eastern take on alt-metal made for an interesting stage show at times – images of a close-up eye crying, a sped-up running of the bulls and a man drinking coffee all found their way onto the screen behind the band at times – it just didn’t feel like an Ozzfest band. That said, the crowd was definitely on System of a Down’s side, reveling in an Ozzy-tribute version of the band’s ‘Sugar.'”
