Sum 41 Now Think Before They Destroy
While most bands tend to mellow with age, Sum 41 bassist Jay McCaslin tells Australia’s Time Off magazine that the group still likes to party. But at least now their conscience has begun to kick in. “Right from the start, we’d be wrecking things – tour vans, rooms, anything,” McCaslin said. “Then we got to thinking, ‘Hang on, a little old lady has to go in after us and clean up the mess’. We totalled a hotel room once and the damage bill was $5,000. On our last video shoot, we were so drunk we put a lamp through the wall of the set after we finished filming. They had to redo the wall. I’m estimating a bill of $10,000.”
