He writes, “ may not be forever changing rock music, but they are just about one of the only bands out there that has a recognizable sound and has avoided following the trends. In fact, their commitment to the tried and true rock standards makes them stand out in today’s music scene. The musicianship has vastly improved on this album; on ‘Is This It?’, the Strokes sounded like the teenage garage band that they were. Now, every member has become proficient at his instrument, and is able to break out of the confining repetitiveness of the band’s previous work.” has since removed the article.
