Steve Newton of Straight.com recently caught up with Buckcherry vocalist Josh Todd, who expressed his opinion on the popularity of ‘American Idol’. “I can’t believe how big that thing has gotten,” Todd said. “I don’t know what to say about that, you know. I actually think [previous American Idol winner] Kelly Clarkson is a really great singer, so there are some good artists that come out of that, but a lot of it is just force-feeding America, you know. America picks the winner, but then all these songwriters write the songs for them, and they put out a record. I really like artists that have something to say themselves.” The full story at straight.com has since been removed.
