Snow Patrol Frontman Happy About Mercury Music Prize Nomination

Snow Patrol may have come up with the best cure for a hangover – get nominated for The Mercury Music Prize. Frontman Gary Lightbody told Radio 1: “It’s all about being nominated. It’s not one of those awards where it actually matters if you win. We’re not gonna win, I know that. I hope either The Streets, the Belles or Franz win it, you know, cos that would be good. We’re just happy to be sitting getting drunk at the party when it comes around. We’ll be on tour in America but we’ll fly back for it I’m sure.”
