Slash dropped by ‘Good Day LA’ on November 5th at the Fox 11 studios in Los Angeles, where the guitar legend promoted his self-titled memoir and his signing later that day at Borders. Slash discussed how people were writing the history of Guns N’ Roses for them, and he felt violated and wanted to tell his side of the story. He also talked about his frustration over the band’s on-stage tardiness, how drugs thankfully were never the crutch for his creative process, and naming his two boys London and Cash. In the web extra clip, Slash talked about entering the world of book writing, never stopping to think about his experiences until he started writing about it, what he thinks his sons – now three and five – will learn from the book, and picking up a guitar for the first time at fifteen and never looking back. No mention was made of Slash’s current band Velvet Revolver in either interview. Video of the broadcast and web extra interviews at myfoxla.com have since been removed.
