Silverchair ‘High School Band’ Phase

Daniel Johns tells Time Off magazine that these days, he hardly sees ’s first two albums ‘Frogstomp’ and ‘Freakshow’ as their work. “I see them as our high school band,” he explained. “So it’s weird to know that your high school band has sold three or four million records around the world. It’s kind of like from my perspective, I feel like [third album] ‘Neon Ballroom’ was the first record that we made and from there we’ve shown a steady development and from that point it felt like Silverchair, rather than ‘Freakshow’ and ‘Frogstomp’, where they really did feel like just what we were doing when we were kids.” The article at has since been removed.
