Shirley Manson On Touring With U2 After September 11
Stephen Dowling of the New Zealand Herald spoke with Garbage singer Shirley Manson about the band’s opportunity to open for U2 following the terror attacks in the United States. Shirley admits, “To be around them in the month after September 11 was peculiarly powerful. To see all these people needing something, they came to U2 looking for something. Everyone’s feeling very cut off and isolated and they came there and they were eloquent, and the band took them places.”
