Sex Pistols Frontman Wants To Perform For Iraqis
Richard Abowitz of Las Vegas Weekly recently chatted with Sex Pistols frontman Johnny Rotten and asked him about his earlier comments about wanting to perform in Iraq. “I am saying the Sex Pistols should go there and entertain the people,” Rotten explained. “The people and not the soldiers. Nobody is doing anything for those people. They are human beings like us. So they suffered 20 years under that dictator, now give them 20 minutes of democracy. Now, is that so bad?” Asked if they could really pull it off, Rotten insisted, “I think we’re the only band they wouldn’t want to blow up. If you think about it, it’s right.”
