Anthrax guitarist Scott Ian recently spoke to Australia’s TimeOff.com.au about the departure of bassist Frank Bello. “Line-up changes are sometimes a necessary evil,” Ian told Steve Bell. “It sucks from a band’s point of view and generally it sucks from a fan’s point of view but sometimes it has to happen. If it doesn’t then sometimes instead of a line-up change it just means the band’s going to break up and there’ll be no more band. To me, the survival of the band and the health of the band is the most important thing, so you have to have everyone looking at what the big picture is all the time and not the individual. Sometimes it just has to happen and it sucks. But things like that have happened to us in our career but we move on and we move forward. Nothing can stop us.”
