Same Old Strokes Except A Much Bigger Toronto Crowd

Stuart Berman of the Toronto Eye reviewed the Strokes show at Air Canada Centre on October 9th. Berman says since the group’s gig there a year ago, “The crowd’s about 10 times bigger; the thick smoke is coming from machines instead of cigarettes; we can actually see them this time; guitarist Nick Valensi’s shag is looking very Ron Wood these days; and instead of rockin’ the denim ‘n’ leather, singer Julian Casablancas now opts for the awkwardly fitting suit, looking not so much like a rock star as someone on his way to court. But aside from these minor developments, it’s still the same ol’ Strokes.” has since removed the article.
