Rufio Losing Pop-Punk Sound On Third Album

Prior to their current Australian tour, Rufio were preparing for their third album. Bassist and co-vocalist Jon Berry tells Time Off magazine the new material is a marked departure from the sound of their previous work. “Our last albums were more pop-punk oriented and the new stuff doesn’t have that vibe,” he said. “It’s a more rock-oriented and we focused a lot more on the vocal melodies and stuff. We also incorporated a lot of cool guitar leads and there are a lot of elements of metal in there as well. But it’s mainly cool rock elements.”
