Rocket from the Crypt frontman John Reis tells the Toronto Eye that he’s too busy to care that a new breed of garage-rock go-getters have cashed in by taking Rocket’s style of rama-lama rock action to MTV and pop radio. “I try to remain positive,” he said. “There is a universe of undiscovered sound out there and I believe in its power. Garage-rock getting popular provides no silver lining for me, however. I enjoy good music being available to people who are connected to the mainstream channels, and yeah, maybe there will be a trickle-down effect. I’m not gonna hold my breath, though.”
