Rapture Is Stuck In The Past
Joshua Klein of the Chicago Tribune reviewed The Rapture’s show at Metro Thursday night (November 6). Klein writes, “The Rapture’s apt name does portend a second coming of sorts, but only in the most literal sense. What the Rapture failed to display, however, was much in the way of original personality. The quartet was so intent on capturing the energy and aesthetic of a bygone era that it failed to connect on a contemporary level. They had the moves down, they had the music down, but they didn’t have the authority to deliver anything more than surface noise.” Chicagotribune.com has since removed the article.
