Radio 1 Talks With Shirley Manson
The BBC’s Radio 1 talked to Garbage lead singer Shirley Manson ahead of the band’s third album where she admitted to seeing a psychiatrist during the band’s last tour saying, “Well you have to understand that I’m living in isolation away from home. I think most people are surrounded by their friends and family, I wasn’t. I was away living in a tour bus with thirty men, by myself, as the only female with noone to talk to. So by the time I came home I was full of two years of jumble-gumble that I needed to work through. It was just somebody to talk to that had the time to sit and listen to all the nonsense that goes on in your head for two years.” Audio at bbc.co.uk/radio1 has since been removed.
