Capital FM caught up with R.E.M. frontman Michael Stipe for a Q&A after the band’s intimate Bush Hall performance. Asked what it’s like for him when he’s up on stage, Stipe said, “I go in and out of this trance-like state. When everything’s going really well it’s always incredible. I don’t want to sound like a hippie, but you can feel the energy coming off the audience. It’s not so much about what’s going on on stage, as what’s coming off the audience.”
