Launch.com’s managing editor Lyndsey Parker recently sat down with Trapt frontman Chris Brown and drummer Aaron Montgomery at L.A.’s trendy Sunset Strip hotel, the Standard, to discuss their metamorphosis from insubordinate teens to mature, messianic rockers. Asked about the band’s future plans, Brown responded, “I can’t wait to travel and see the world. I’ve been trapped. Our first album was about the journey of getting there, or actually just getting to the starting point. This next record is going to be about taking that road and traveling there and seeing everything the world has to offer and growing as a person. So I think our next album is going to be a lot more mature, a step up musically and lyrically. I think every album a band makes should be a challenge to create something completely new. I never want to make the same record twice. I don’t want to be someone who doesn’t put all their effort into it and just goes through the motions. So the second record is definitely going to be traveling that road at this new starting line and trying to get to the finish.” The full transcript at Launch.com has since been removed.
