Pure Rock Power Lights Audioslave’s Way
Tony Hicks of the Contra Costa Times reviewed the Audioslave show Wednesday at the Warfield in San Francisco. Hicks writes, “Despite the individual accolades and chops, Audioslave is finally starting to come together as a real band. [Frontman Chris Cornell's] voice is so distinctive that he steers the sound more toward Soundgarden than Rage — this in a band that was three-quarters of Rage only a couple of years ago. Then again, Soundgarden never had a brilliant guitarist like Tom Morello. Morello and Cornell traded off handling the crowd all night. Morello is finally in a space where he can stretch his considerable abilities, while Cornell is back playing supreme hard-rock frontman. The results were uncomplicated, yet great.” Bayarea.com has since removed the article.
